What Outerbeat is the one and only radio program in Yogyakarta which features indiepop, C86, post-punk, dreampop, shoegaze, 60's girl groups, and such local and global variety, and still considered as pioneer of the proper indiepop radio program in Indonesia.

Outerbeat held its first broadcast in late 2004 in conjunction with MTV on Sky 88.7 FM. Due to the major shift in all MTV based-radio in Indonesia, Outerbeat transmission sadly had come to an end abruptly in the late 2005. Despite its relatively short period of activity, Outerbeat played a massive part in the growth of a new generation of indiepop scene in Yogyakarta: bands, fans, fanzines, record labels, etc.

Now 5 years have passed, we're glad to announce the resurrection of the legendary indiepop radio program in Yogyakarta. Yay!
