PETER MURPHY

Peter John Murphy (born 11 July 1957, near Northampton, England, raised in Wellingborough, England), is the vocalist of the rock group Bauhaus who later went on to release a number of solo albums, such as Deep and Love Hysteria.

By 1983, Bauhaus broke up and Murphy went on to new projects not involving Bauhaus members Kevin Haskins, David J, or Daniel Ash. After some brief dabbling with acting and dance - including a slightly odd televised performance to Bauhaus’s “Hollow Hills” - he soon formed Dalis Car with Mick Karn, the bass player from Japan.

Fungi Girls are a trio from Cleburne, Texas. “The guys that comprise this power trio are all still barely over the legal driving age, but still not even close to the drinking age, so when the surprising and wise-beyond-their-years modern psychedelic/gaze sounds first bolted from our speakers, we had to do something about it. Their first impression sits heavily on the unique and subdued vocals that seem to lightly hover over the hazy, yet complex arrangements, forming an incredibly atmospheric blast that doesn’t really sound like anything else.

Young Prisms

Young Prisms is a San Francisco psychedelic/garage/beach-pop band, influenced by the California coast, Charlton Heston, and late night spiritual pow wows. They recorded their self-titled EP in the living room of their apartment in the first half of 2009. On this first spaced-out EP, the band strands its listeners in the solitude of a beach fireworks display with nothing but lights for the tongue and acid for the ears—arresting, colors everywhere. Made up of Matthew Allen, Giovanni Betteo, Jason Hendardy, Stefanie Hodapp, and Jordan Silbert, Young Prisms has been prying minds open with their stellar sounds for less than a year since Silbert made the transition from Detroit to San Francisco
The Prisms have released two 12″, one with Brooklyn-based label Mexican Summer and the other with Oakland-based label South Paw Records. Look for 2010 to be a breakout year for these Bay Area rockers.

The Popinjays

The band was formed by Wendy Robinson (vocals) and Polly Hancock (vocals, guitar), initially with a drum machine, and a girl called Emma on bass guitar. This line-up recorded their debut "Don't Go Back" EP (released on Big Cat records in August 1988). They then recruited Dana Baldinger, who replaced Emma, and signed to One Little Indian, releasing the "Perfect Dream Home" single. Baldinger left, to be replaced by Anne Rogers. In December 1989, the British music magazine, NME reported that the Popinjays, along with others such as Power of Dreams, Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine and The Charlatans, were their pick as 'stars of tomorrow'.
Their debut album Bang Up To Date With The Popinjays was issued in April 1990. 1991 saw further line-up changes, with Rogers being replaced briefly by Emma Newton, who was subsequently replaced by ex-Airhead bassist Ben Kesteven, and with drummer, Seamus Feeney, ousting the drum machine, remaining until the band split up in 1994.

The Harvest Ministers

Even as We Speak is an indie band from Sydney, Australia - formed in 1986. The line up changed over the years, with founding members Matthew Love (guitar, banjo, vocals), Mary Wyer (vocals, guitar) and Rob Irwin (bass) joined later by Anita Raynor (drums, mandolin), Paul Clarke (guitar, vocals) and Julian Knowles (keyboards, production, guitar).
